Message from the President
Greetings Brothers and members of the Greater Killeen Community,
On behalf of the Kappa Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. we would like to take this time to welcome you as well as thank you for allowing us to be an integral part of the community. The KSL Chapter has been busy preparing for the Texas Counsel of Alpha Chapters (TCAC) Conference, Southwestern Regional and General Conventions, and several other projects in the local area such as The Central Texas Sickle Cell Anemia Association, Relay for Life, Project Alpha, and the National Association For The Advancement of Colored People’s “Back-to-School Stay-In-School Rally". We invite you to take a look at our Calendar and different programs, as you might find something that may peak your interest.
Being a part of this community comes with its own set of challenges on top of your normal day to day. In the midst of juggling career and family obligations, we realize that money and time are important commodities but simply ask for your support in carrying out the aims of our dear Fraternity. "MANLY DEEDS, SCHOLARSHIP, and LOVE FOR ALL MANKIND". One of the pillars of Kappa Sigma Lambda is brotherhood. Without the contributions of each Brother in partnership with community members, we would not be where we are today. In essence…our community needs us, and we need you.
To our dear Brothers, we ask that you revisit your motives for joining our organization. Remember the fond memories you have had in order to rekindle that spark that initially led you to join. Come join us every first Friday of the month during our “Phirst Phamily Dinners” or during our various community service events which are listed on www.killeenalphas.com. In addition to that, we also wear Alpha Paraphernalia on the 7th of each month, in hopes to increase our visibility to other Brothers as well as the community. The Chapter also hosts monthly meetings every second Saturday at Texas A&M Central Texas campus in Killeen at 1000 hrs.
In conclusion, we would like to encourage our Brothers to RE-CONNECT, RE-ENGAGE, and RE-COMMIT to upholding the light of Alpha. For the members of this great community, we are here for you and look forward to assisting in driving the Greater Killeen area to a brighter future.
ONWARD & UPWARD!
Fraternally,
Brother Damascus Ross
