The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated Kappa Sigma Lambda Chapter are sponsoring the 4th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice Oratorical Contest. This competition will be held on January 16, 2021 at 9:06 am at Anderson Chapel AME Church, 1002 Jefferis Avenue, Killeen TX 76543.
The competition is a contest designed to motivate high school males to excel in education. The competition encourages students to express their views on a pre-selected topic and focuses on the ability of the students to communicate orally and in writing. The contest is also designed to give young men experience in public speaking reviewing legal documents as well as provide an opportunity for them to obtain some financial support for their academic needs and pursuits. Participants will receive cash prizes. 1st Place $500.00, 2nd $300.00, and 3rd Place $150.00. We are seeking deserving young males to participate who meet the following minimum requirements: · Male High School Student · Exemplifies good character · Demonstrates leadership ability · Please submit your completed application by December 02, 2020. NOTE: Due to current COVID-19 conditions we will follow the safety guidelines and restrictions set forth by the CDC, State of Texas, Bell County, City of Killeen, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
